Halliday man dies in fatal crash

Darrell Jacobs, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after his vehicle veered off the road into an east ditch off of Highway 8, five miles north of Halliday.

Darrell Jacobs, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after his vehicle veered off the road into an east ditch off of Highway 8, five miles north of Halliday. The incident occurred last Saturday, Nov. 24, just after 5 p.m.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Jacobs had been traveling northbound when his vehicle left the roadway, rolled and came to rest on its roof. Jacobs was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
