Gertrude “Trude” was born November 17, 1932 in Dickinson, the daughter of Anton J. and Helen (Jablonsky) Sadowsky. Growing up on the family farm/ranch near Manning, she attended New Hradec Catholic School through the eighth grade and Model High in Dickinson, graduating with the class of 1950.

Trude married George Tuhy on May 29, 1951 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church in New Hradec. The couple started their married life farming near South Heart.

They were blessed with six children, Dan, Jane, Tom, Mary, Bob, and Ann. In 1965 they moved their family to a ranch north of Dunn Center and became a part of the Killdeer and Dunn Center communities. George and Trude became residents of Killdeer in 1991 and Trude made her final home at Hill Top Home of Comfort in October 2014. Trude enjoyed gardening, playing piano, sewing, reading, cooking her famous chicken noodle soup and baking. She found great pleasure in feeding her husband, children and grandchildren.
