On May 9, students from Killdeer High School, along with their families, gathered at the High Plains Cultural Center for the annual Athletic Banquet.
This banquet includes an awards ceremony that recognizes students for their hard work and dedication to the sports programs offered at our school.
A power point presentation showed each member of each team and their personal stats during the banquet. When the meal was over, coaches from each sport announced members of the teams and handed the students their letter/bar that they received for their achievements in their sport.
The sports included: wrestling, girls basketball, boys basketball, track and field, golf, cross country, football, volleyball and cheerleading. Students were recognized for their hard work competing in a sport and their hard work keeping stats for those involved in the sport. This year Killdeer had 23 student, 13 girls and 10 boys, letter in three or more sports. There was also a Coaches Appreciation Award given to a community member who does everything they can to help Killdeer athletes throughout the year. This year’s award was presented to Walt Kukla for being at every sporting event he could be at and helping the students every chance he got. Congratulations to all the athletes honored for their hard work and dedication to their sports. [Submitted Photo]
