DSU welcomes public to 93rd spring Commencement

The 93rd spring Commencement ceremony at Dickinson State University will take place 10 a.m. on May 11 in Scott Gymnasium. A reception will immediately follow in Weinbergen Gymnasium.

The university expects to graduate 246 students from 18 states and 11 countries during this year’s spring ceremony.

Pierce Brooks and Jordan Mork were selected as this year’s student speakers to give the commencement address. Brooks, North Hills, Calif. will be graduating with a bachelor of university studies with an emphasis in international business. He is the son of Dexter and Lisa Brooks. Mork, Dickinson, N.D. will be graduating with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Dean and Gayle Mork.

Dickinson Singles and Alumni Club

The Dickinson Singles and Alumni Club will hold their monthly supper at 5:30 p.m. and dance at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the St. Anthony Club in Dickinson, 105 1st St. S.E.

Dunn County JDA to offer business assistance

The Dunn County Jobs Development Authority will begin hosting a representative of the Dickinson Branch of the North Dakota Small Business Development Center at the Dunn County JDA office. The monthly visits will begin on Wednesday, May 15, and will continue on the third Wednesday of each month.

The ND SBDC provides many business support services including: help with business plans, financial projections & budgeting, overcoming operational challenges, the purchase or sale of a business, venture funding and loan packaging. Services offered through the SBDC are offered at no cost to the client.

County Health Maintenance Clinics and Screenings

Dunn County Health maintenance clinics will be held May 6 at Dodge City Hall from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On May 7 at Dunn Center City Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. On May 10 at the Killdeer Housing Unit (Health Maintenance and Foot Care) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. And on May 14 at Halliday City Hall (Health Maintenance and Foot Care) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Blood pressure, pulse and weight will be done at all Health Maintenance Clinics this month.

Every Wednesday is office day at the Public Health Nurse’s Office in Killdeer, located in the county building, open from 8 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Dunn County Immunizations Schedule

Dunn County immunizations will be held May 6 at Dodge City Hall from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., by appointment only. On May 7 at Dunn Center City Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., by appointment only. On May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at the Killdeer Public Health Office, inside the county building, from 8 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. And on May 14 at Halliday City Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., by appointment only.
