Area residents were given a cold, snowy morning Wednesday as 13 degree temperatures and heavy snow left over four inches by press time. More snow was expected as a cold front from Canada sent temperatures shooting downward.

The streets of Killdeer turned to ice as traffic ground the snow into a slick, icy mess. By around 11 a.m., a semi had jackknifed in front of Killdeer Pharmacy, blocking traffic and causing more woes to those on the road. Unofficial reports had a number of trucks and vehicles off the road north of Killdeer, on Hwy. 22.
