There were nine chili chefs competing for the top prize. The Hillbilly Chili team of Rita Truchan and Nanette Edmundson won the top prize of $300 for their “Road-kill Chili.” A pane of five judged the chili entries. Polar Service Company was second and Benz Oil third. However, The Three Amigos team of John Truchan, Scott Edmundson and Scott Boyce was the crowd favorite. The team won the People’s Choice award for its own chili, and also won the People’s Choice award for the best booth and skit.
