The Dunn County Historical Society recently called upon the Killdeer FFA to help move items in the meeting area, office and kitchen of the Dunn County Museum to get it ready for having carpet and tile replaced.

Along with the DCHS board and museum committee members, other community members who helped with moving furnishings included Rodney Wolf of Killdeer and Allan and Gail Lynch of Dunn Center. Because of their help, the museum is ready for the new flooring to be installed.

The Dunn County Museum will be opening its doors for the summer season on May 25, on Memorial Day weekend.

If new to the area or have not recently been to the museum, please make plans for a summer visit. There are newly donated or loaned items being added to the displays throughout the year.

The museum is an educational and interesting place for all ages, and will be open Mondays and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays 2 p.m. to 5p.m., through Labor Day. The museum is closed on Tuesdays.

In order to maintain and improve the museum’s appearance, there are many work projects that need to be completed. The museum board is in need of and appreciates the help of volunteers.

If able to help, even for a few hours or days during the summer, please contact the museum at 548-8111 and leave your name and phone number.

We consider your time a valuable donation.
