Cowboys go to West Region Championships

The Cowboy cross country teams competed at the West Region championships on Oct. 11th. The teams came through with strong performances.  The varsity girls ended up in a tie for 2nd, but lost the tiebreaker and fell to 3rd. Sydney Andersen, Danielle Benz, and Shawnee Hansen led the way with strong performances. They all finished in the top 10 and earned all-region honors. Amber Kukla ran strong to the finish as the 4th runner, passing a number of girls on the home stretch to boost the Cowboys past Bowman and Surrey.  Rachel Kisse rounded out the scorers for the day and kept the team on the podium. The boys varsity finished 13th out of 17 teams behind Cole Dade’s 47th place finish.

The JV teams both brought home runner-up trophies. The girls were led by Shyanne Oversen and Tyra Dahlen, who finished 5th and 7th. The boys were led by Jackson Tanner and Garrett Calkins in 12th and 16th.
