‘Crash Mob’ highlights May seat belt enforcement

Added patrols will be on duty from May 19 to June 1.
A seat belt is the primary indicator influencing who lives and who dies in a motor vehicle crash.
Most people know this—but failure to use a seat belt continues to contribute to the deaths of 40-50 people per year in North Dakota.
To make this point, the North Dakota Department of Transportation enlisted young people to demonstrate the life or death choice of wearing a seat belt as the annual Click It Or Ticket campaign was announced.
Students and faculty at the Bismarck Public Schools Career Academy helped demonstrate the number of lives that might have been saved by seat belts in a “Crash Mob” event sponsored by the North Dakota Department of Transportation. The gathered “Mob” represented the number of people who died on North Dakota roads last year.
