CROSS COUNTRY: Cowboys start season in Jamestown

Killdeer cross-country opened their season on Saturday in Jamestown against a mix of Class A & B teams. The race was in a little different format as it included mud, steep hills, and even a few water crossings. The girls had a strong start to the season, with the varsity finishing 4th out of 13 teams and the JV 6th out of 16 teams. Varsity girls were right behind the larger Class A schools at the meet. Sydney Andersen, Trae Murray, and Shawnee Hansen all finished in the top 15 to lead the way. Danielle Benz and Jurnee Murray rounded out the scorers for Killdeer.

The younger runners were led by Bailey Smith, Corrie Dobitz, and Trinity Scheffer and competed well in their first race of the year, racing against a few varsity squads entered in the JV race.
