Dale Odin Anderson died peacefully April 20th 2017 at Kinder Care in West Fargo, N.D.
Dale Odin Anderson, tireless supporter of North Dakota, was born April 2, 1937 in Dunn Center to Odin and Erna Anderson of Gladstone, N.D. Dale graduated from Dunn Center High School.
He achieved his undergraduate degree in Agriculture Economics from North Dakota State University in 1960, and was awarded his PhD in Agriculture Economics from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Okla. in 1965.
He married Claudia Ann Brown on June 12, 1960. They had two children, Sonjia and Sheldon and five grandchildren, Kellie, Rolf, Gunnar, Ingrid, and Siri.
Dale joined the Greater North Dakota Association in 1974. He served as the President of the Greater North Dakota Association from 1981 through 2003. He received the Greater North Dakotan Award in 2012.
Since 2006, Dale had worked with Sanford Health to develop services for those with Huntington’s disease and their families, including an HD clinic and support group and also played an integral role in developing the Northern Prairie Affiliate, an affiliate of the Huntington Disease Society of America in 2011. He received the HDSA Person of the Year award in 2013.
Dale is survived by his wife, Claudia; children, Sonjia of Fargo and son, Sheldon of Minneapolis; grandchildren: Rolf, Gunnar, Ingrid, and Siri of Bloomington and Kellie, of Fargo; sisters, Sharon Sorensen of Lakeview, Mich. and Linda Perhus of Taylor; plus extended family.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne.

Visitation was be at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home on Sunday, April 23 from 5- 7 p.m. followed by the prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held Monday, April 24 at First Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. A luncheon followed.
