Delphia F. Kemnitz, 97, Bismarck, died March 18, 2014 at a Bismarck care center. A graveside service will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.

Delphia Benscoter was born to Lee and Orra Benscoter on Sept. 7, 1916 in Wentonka, S.D. She grew up in Aberdeen, S.D. Delphia married Ralph “Boots” L. Kemnitz, June 9, 1944.
Delphia and Boots owned and operated Snyder’s Men’s Wear in Bowman, and later worked in clothing stores in Jamestown and Dickinson where she and Boots retired. While in Bowman Delphia and Boots were very instrumental in developing the Bowman Golf Course. Delph and Boots were given a lifetime membership to the Bowman Golf Course when they moved from Bowman. After Boots passed away she moved to Bismarck in 2000.
She was very devoted to and beloved by her family.
She is survived by her son Ralph “Chip” (Julie), Philip, SD, Larry (Shirley), Bismarck, Michael (Marlene), El Dorado Hills, Calif., and daughter Rochelle “Shelley” Langer and fiancé Lonnie “Buck” Buckmiller, Lincoln; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, with the 22nd due Sept. 8, the day after her birthday; sister Beryl Carroll, Aberdeen, SD; and 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, her husband, and two granddaughters.
