Dukart places in wrestling tourney

Five Killdeer Cowboy Wrestlers traveled to New Salem on Jan. 25 and 26 for the East-West Wrestling Tournament.

Wrestlers Cole Dukart (113), Derek Tabor (126), Tanner Rohde (132), Dane Larsen (138) and David Dukart (195) all participated in the tournament.

All the Killdeer Cowboy Wrestlers worked hard, but, in the end, only David Dukart made it to the finals and placing rounds. Dukart came into the tournament in the second seeded position and started the tournament off by pinning Velva’s Dylan Lemons in 45 seconds.

Dukart’s next match was against Bishop Ryan’s Dakota Johnson and Dukart pinned Johnson in 4:14 minutes.

Dukart now advanced to the semi-finals and Dukart pinned Oak’s Tristen Schmitz to advance into the finals.

David Dukart wrestled hard in the finals, but was pinned by South Border’s Tanner Meidinger in 5:50 minutes.

The Killdeer Cowboys were at home on Jan. 31 for the Killdeer Tri-A against Bowman-Beach and Standing Rock, then they will travel to Hettinger for a Dual on Feb. 2 at 6 p.m.
