Dunn County Junior 4-H Livestock Judging team competes at state

Ian Dukart of Manning placed 35th at the 2017 North Dakota State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest on March 4 at North Dakota State University in Fargo.

Dukart and Brayden Klym of Dunn Center represented the Dunn County 4-H program in the junior division at the state event.

There were 104 junior 4-H members who competed against each other by judging nine classes of livestock – three sheep, three swine, and three beef.

The participants had to give three sets of oral reasons on why they placed the classes in the order they did.

The two Dunn County boys also teamed with a member of Pembina County 4-H and placed 12th as a team.
