On February 24th, 2016 at approximately 11:20 p.m., a Dunn County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a suspicious vehicle near the roundabout in Killdeer.

Other Dunn County Deputies were also in the area and assisted with the stop as there were multiple occupants in the vehicle. Through the course of the investigation it was determined that one of the passengers had numerous arrest warrants and the other passenger was on probation for numerous felony offenses. The driver consented to the deputies searching the vehicle. The passenger with warrants exited the vehicle without incident. The second passenger refused to cooperate, lunged towards one of the deputies, resisted arrest, reached for his waist band, and was subsequently tased by a deputy. Upon searching the individual, the deputies discovered a stolen, loaded and concealed handgun in the subject’s waist band. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, preventing arrest on a felony charge, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft of weapon.
