In a region seven thriller, the lady Bison beat Killdeer in overtime on Killdeer’s home court on Feb. 17.

Scores were all even after regulation, but Hazen would pull away during the overtime period for the 61-56 victory.
Coming out of the first quarter the Cowgirls had a five point lead over the lady Bison. Each team put up double digits as Killdeer led 15-10 after that opening quarter.
Defense from both teams stepped up in the second quarter as each team was held to single digits. The Cowgirls put up eight points, while Hazen put up six and Killdeer ended the half with a commanding 23-16 lead.
Hazen caught up to Killdeer in the third quarter. Coming out of the halftime break, the lady Bison put up 15 points. However, Killdeer still scored 14 and Hazen only gained one point on the lead.
The fourth quarter was when the lady Bison really got going. They scored six more points than their Killdeer opponents, and managed to tie the game by the time regulation time ended.
That strong fourth quarter showing continued into the overtime period for Hazen. The scored another 14 points, and their defense held Killdeer to only nine points, sealing the victory for the Hazen Bison.
Leading scorer for the Bison was Lexie Biffert with 15 followed by Kendra Slaubaugh with 12. Slaubaugh also led the Bison with seven rebounds.
Killdeer’s leading scorer was Morgan LeMieux who put up a game high 24 points, and Kalisha Keller was second on the team with eight points. Ashley Brew had a game high 10 rebounds for Killdeer.
