Iola P. Bolster, age 93 of Aitkin, Minnesota died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at her home.

Iola was born Dec. 31, 1919 at Werner, N.D., the daughter of Charles Andrew and Clara (Swensen) Nordsven. She grew up and attended schools near Halliday, N.D. and then attended college at Dickinson, N.D.
She married Everett Bolster on Oct. 26, 1941 at Wilbaux, Mont. They lived at Beach, N.D. for 14 years and then moved to Aitkin, Minn. In 1955 and she lived there since. She worked as a secretary for Aitkin County Health and Human Services. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Aitkin, and the Jacques Art Center; she enjoyed antiquing, playing the violin and piano along with painting, and gardening, canning, and making rock gardens.
She is survived by three children and spouses: Larry and Marie Bolster of West Hills, Calif., Bernie and Yvonne Bolster of Grand Rapids, Mich., Russ and Betty Bolster of Rogers, Mich.; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin Nordsven of Albuquerque, N.M., Kermit Nordsven of Bellfield, N.D., and Elmer Nordsven of Halliday, N.D.; and one sister, Cordella Sandvick of Dickinson, N.D.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everett in 2006, and two brothers. A private family service will be held Friday with burial at the Diamond Lake Cemetery near Aitkin. Rev. Robert Munnike will officiate. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
