If you’ve grown up in Western North Dakota, preferably near Scranton, or have tuned into The Voice on television in the last few months, then you’re probably familiar with the name “Kat Perkins.” This Scranton native has been rocking the blues, country and rock scene all around America since her debut in the Medora Musical in 1999.

Since then, Perkins has fronted Scarlet Haze, a band from Twin Cities, Minnesota as well as traveled to the Middle East to perform for American military troops. In 2014, Perkins released her first single, “Fearless.” One week after its’ release, “Fearless” placed in the Top 5 on the iTunes Rock Chart and also qualified for he first round of the Grammy Awards “Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance” categories.
Perkins was eliminated from The Voice after she’d made it to the Top 5 singing “Chandelier” by Sia and “Let It Go” from the 2013 Disney Animated Feature Film “Frozen.” After she was eliminated, Perkins and EduTech partnered with the Positive Social Media Tour to visit schools across the United States to review social media with students and give a live performance.
Kat Perkins will be at the school in Twin Buttes, ND on Tuesday, October 2. This is very exciting news for the students in Twin Buttes and Halliday, as they get the performance of a lifetime from a North Dakotan rockstar.
