Track coaches Nathan Horgeshimer and Janis Harris are very optimistic about their team’s chances at the regional meet. “I am very excited about regionals. The girls are really hitting their peaks at the right time and it is amazing to see. Regionals are going to be a great day for the girls as they are a strong veteran group supported by a lot of young talent,” added Harris. Horgeshimer had this to say about the boy’s team, “The boys are really close in a lot of events. We will be really competitive in our region. We are knocking at the door for qualifying in about a half dozen events.”
The following athletes have already qualified for the state track meet to be held in Bismarck on May 22-23. Kalisha Keller, Sydney Andersen and Cory Dobitz in Pole Vault; Trae Murray, Sydney Andersen, Shawnee Hansen and Amber Kukla in the 3200 meter relay; Caleb Musick, Trenton Rohr, Lewis Dobitz and Hunter Lincoln in the 800 meter relay; Lewis Dobitz and Shawnee Hansen in the 400 meter dash.
Good luck to the Killdeer Cowboys at Regionals!
