The Killdeer Buck Contest will be held Dec. 7, at the Buckskin Bar and Grill in Killdeer.Posted 11/29/13

Whitetails and Muley’s are eligible, measuring will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m., with awards to be given out at 7 p.m.
Entry fees will be either food items for the Food Pantry or a cash donation – “Tis the season to be generous.”
Cash prizes will be given for 1st through 5th places starting at $250 cash. The 9th place award is an embroidered coat donated by 1st International and American Bank Center (logo by Joann Brew.)
There Is also a special prize: $100 worth of fuel from Cenex and Benz Oil Co. for the two biggest Dunn County resident’s bucks. You must live in Dunn County to win this one.
There are also a lot of youth prizes and door prizes for entries and the general public.
“With a limited deer population this year, yours could be a winner,” contest organizer Wendell Vigen said. “See you there!”
During the measuring at the buck contest, there will be a benefit auction (silent and live) with proceeds going to help defray medical costs for Logan Kostelecky, a local young man who has been battling cancer. A free will offering supper will follow donated by the Buckskin Bar.
Everyone is welcome to join the fun – there will be something for everyone, including kids electric John Deere tractors, elk horns, cow hides, rifles, even a load of hay.
