Bismarck, N.D., August. 20, 2017 — Everything Midwestern LLC based in Hebron recently announced the launch of ‘The DakotaBall Podcast – Life, Love & Basketball in a small town’ The online audio program will showcase the rich history and tradition of B-class basketball in the upper midwest with a focus on North Dakota.
Says program producer, James Wolner of Hebron, ‘Small town basketball in the Dakotas is in a league of its own when it comes to the important role of the sport in the community. Basketball is about people and this podcast will showcase both basketball and life in small Dakota towns.’
The podcast is available on ITunes, Google Play, Stitcher and all podcast apps for smartphones. The podcast website www.dakotaball.org hosts the podcast with each episode accompanied by photographs.
The second episode ‘Big dreams in a small town’ with an interview with the creator of the movie Hoosiers was released today. The first episode of the series ‘Starving on the Courts’ explores dakota basketball in the 1940s and 1950s. New episodes may be expected approximately every three weeks.
Says Wolner, ‘Coming episodes will feature Ashlee Viveros of Killdeer and also a look back at the 1977 Boys B state tournament when tiny Epping charmed the entire state with their trip to the finals’.
The podcast will follow the 2017/2018 North Dakota high school basketball season as well as showcase historical basketball stories such as the epic 1977 boys’ state B tournament when tiny Epping advanced to the finals with a school enrolment of only 23 students.
