Just because snow is covering the new green turf and stadium  of the Cowboy Sports Complex, doesn’t mean progress has stopped on updating and improving the complex. The chance for the community to support the complex and the county’s youth begins on Sat. Jan. 17 at 6 pm at the Buckskin Bar.

The Cowboy Sports Complex Committee has planned a enjoyable evening that will start with a free will donation dinner at 6 pm. The meal is being donated by  Eric Kerr, owner of the Buckskin Bar. The meal will be roast beef, various sides, buns and homemade bars.

While you are waiting to eat, look through the numerous donated items available for silent auction to start at 8pm. Do you have a little girl at home that just loves Frozen? They have a basket for her. Do you want a KHS football helmet signed by the outstanding KHS football team? How about a basket with 2015-2016 All Season Passes to KHS athletic events? There will be a silent auction item for everyone’s interest. The action isn’t just limited to silent auction items.

There will be a regular auction for some very special items like handmade quilts, one of a kind Killdeer Cowboy spurs and bit, a HD TV from Western Choice,  a pie of the month by one of Dunn County’s best bakers Janene Knudsvig, and an amazing original horse painting by Emery Dobitz. This is just a partial list of auction items. For a more complete list and pictures, like the Killdeer Cowboy Sports Complex Facebook page.

The fun doesn’t stop there. After completing the auction, the very talented band Pistol Grip will be there to make sure toes get tapping, the two step gets started and the singing begins. What a great way for the community to warm up during this chilly winter and to support the children of Dunn County by giving them a sports complex worthy of them.

If you are interested in learning more about the items being auctioned or about the Sports Complex, like their page on Facebook.
