Allison Steffan from Killdeer was nominated for the 2017 Outstanding Graduate Award.
The Dickinson State University Outstanding Graduate Award is the highest honor bestowed upon graduating seniors by the university.
Students are nominated by the faculty in their academic departments for exceptional performance in their fields of study.
Nominees submit an application packet which includes a resume, documentation of leadership, letters of reference, and an essay. A selection committee reviews complete applications and selects two individuals to receive the outstanding graduate of the year award.
Steffan, a senior elementary education major was recently honored by the North Dakota Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. She was one of two students from the Dickinson State campuses in Dickinson and Bismarck were selected by the association for Outstanding Student in Teacher Education Award.
This past school year, Steffan was a student teacher at Killdeer school in Darla Hoffmann’s grade-school class.
