Leontina Borth, 93, passed away on April 7, 2015, at St. Gabriel’s Community Care Center in Bismarck.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Beulah, ND, with Rev. Mary Lou Aune officiating. Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Leontina was the third of eight children born to Adolf and Lydia Entzel on July 31, 1921, in Halliday, ND. She attended school in Halliday and in 1946, she married Reuben Borth. They had three children: Ron, Linda, and Linette.
They farmed near Werner until 1979, when they retired to their new home in Halliday. Leontina was active in Our Saviors ELCW and worked at the Halliday Public School assisting with the school lunch program. In 2006, she moved to the School House Apartments in Beulah; in 2012, Senior Suites in Hazen; and in 2015, St. Gabriel’s Community Care Center.
Leontina was an avid gardener, bingo and card player, and an especially proud grandmother.
Leontina is survived by her children, Ron (Cheryl) Borth, Linda (Larry) Quast, and Linette (Mike) Arndt; her grandchildren, Tiffany Quast, Philip (Miranda) Quast, and Jaclyn Zabolotny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; her parents; her brother, Otto Entzel; and her sisters, Tillie Mock, Frieda Borth, Emelia Huber, Hulda Lorenz, Erna Renner, and Elsie Allmendinger.
