Many play games while watching the big game

Super Bowl not the only exciting game people enjoyed at HPCC event

More than 50 football  fans watched the big game on the big screen during the High Plains Cultural Center’s Super Bowl Bash on Sunday.

Some cheered as the New England Patriots rallied from a 25-point deficit to defeat the Atlanta Falcons.

Others weren’t so happy, but there were many things to distract them from the biggest collapse in Super Bowl history.

The community event featured a variety of  games for adults and children. There were free poker and live blackjack tables for adults and bean bag throw and board games.

While most watched the game on the 26-foot projector screen, others chose to watch a children’s movie in the lobby.

They enjoyed finger foods, hot wings, chili, soup, cookies and other desserts.

This was the second time the High Plains Cultural Center sponsored an event like this for the community. It held a similar event for the NFL Conference Championship games on Jan. 22.
