On the night of July 28, 2017, volunteer firefighter for West Dunn Fire Rescue, Zach Pavlicek, was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident involving one other male who received fatal injuries.
Zach was fortunate enough to be air lifted to Minneapolis, Minnesota with an open fracture of his pelvis, an open fracture of his femur and a broken arm.
Nearly two months later, Zach continues to heal and make improvements. When speaking with Zach earlier this week over the phone, we’d asked him if there was anything he’d like to add to the story that plastered the news in the days preceding the accident, and he replied with, “I was just lucky enough to have my phone to be able to call 9-11.”
On September 30th, at the Dunn Center Pub and Grub, there will be a silent auction as well as a live auction to aid in Zach’s recovery. The silent auction will begin at 3:30pm and close at 6:30pm, dinner will begin at 5:00pm, and the live auction will start at 4:00pm until 7:30pm, follow by a dance with live band, Thunder Road which starts at 8:30pm.
Some of the items going up for auction include homemade paintings and sculptures, 1/2 pig, loads of scoria and a plot of land.
