Medora’s 15th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rally

(Medora,
ND)

The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) is excited to announce that the 15th Annual Medora Hot Air Balloon Rally, and 3rd Annual Badlands Kite Fest, will take place Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10.

The rally is a great way for visitors to relax during the morning and afternoon of the finale weekend of the 53rd Anniversary Edition Medora Musical. The rally also provides an opportunity for professional and amateur photographers to take some beautiful photographs.

TRMF Marketing and Communications Director, Justin Fisk says, “The Hot Air Balloon Rally is always a popular weekend in Medora. It’s a tremendous photo opportunity – set in the stunning North Dakota Badlands.”

The rendezvous point is the lot on the east side of the Badlands Motel. The balloon launch is always weather permitting. The balloons will launch from the lot next to the badlands motel, or a ranch south of Medora depending on wind direction. Riders, photographers, and anyone else in attendance at the rendezvous point will be notified as these decisions are made.

Balloon rides are not for sale, but the public is invited to view the rally as it floats above the Badlands.
