Milton “Red” Cole, 85, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Community Hospital of natural causes.
He was born June 5, 1929 in Halliday, North Dakota to Milton and Lillian Cole. He graduated from Halliday High School in 1948. He enlisted in the Army in 1951, was in the 2nd Infantry and served in the Korean War. When returning from the war he married Norma Neirhor and they had four children and later divorced.
He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, Cenex Corp, and KOA Campgrounds.
May 5th, 1989 he married Jean Weber of Missoula and they shared 25 years, having fun and enjoying each other’s lives.
His hobbies included: camping, fishing, wood working, traveling, and playing cards with friends. He enjoyed helping others who were less fortunate than himself and giving hope to those in need.
Red is survived by his wife, Jean of the family home; a son, Jeff of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Carla Hirst of Tioga, North Dakota; a stepson, Don Weber (Cindy) Anaheim, California; a stepdaughter, Debbie O’Toole (Kelly), Missoula, Montana; grandchildren, Nick, Dakota, & Chiyanna Cole; Ashley & Lisa Weber, Casey & Sean O’Toole, Marie Quist; great grandchildren, Damon & Taylor Quist.
Red is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Alice, Mary and Doris; daughter’s, Audrey Nicolette & Mary Jo.
Per Red’s request no service will be held until a later date at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Missoula, Montana.
