Grasslands Supervisor, Bill O’Donnell, welcomes Nancy Veres as the McKenzie District Ranger in Watford City, North Dakota.
Nancy graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science. Born and raised on a cattle operation in western Pennsylvania, Nancy has had ties to the agricultural community her entire life. When asked her thoughts on living in rural North Dakota Nancy said, “I’m excited about living and working in a rural area once again and to be working with our partners, cooperator groups, and being a member of a great community!”
Nancy’s 24-year career with the USDA began as an Assistant County Supervisor with Farmers Home Administration in Pennsylvania. Her career has taken her as far west as Wyoming and as far south as Arizona, where she recently served as the Program Director, USDA Rural Development Community/Water and Environmental Programs since 2013.
Of her selection as McKenzie District Ranger, Veres said, “I’m looking forward to working with the Dakota Prairie Grasslands team and leading the McKenzie District of the Little Missouri National Grassland.”
When not working, Nancy enjoys traveling to historical sites, reading, riding her Harley, hunting, and exploring the great outdoors.
