For the past two years, Hibbs has held similar positions with The Pioneer and The Finder newspapers in Bowman.
All three publications and related websites are owned by Country Media Inc.
Before joining Country Media in July 2011, Hibbs held news and general management positions in northeastern Colorado with MediaNews Group Inc., one of the nation’s largest media organizations.
He also had worked as a writer and editor for weekly newspapers in southeastern Oklahoma.
Hibbs has a bachelor’s degree in education from Phillips University in Enid, Okla.
“Given this region’s rapid economic growth and significant lifestyle changes, we thought a 20-year news veteran would be the right choice to lead Dunn County’s newspaper,” said Country Media president Steve Hungerford.
“The Herald’s role as this county’s primary news source is one we take very seriously,” said Hungerford. “Bringing Eddie Hibbs to Killdeer is an indication of the importance this company places on the Dunn County Herald and its readers.”
Country Media owns 12 newspapers in Oregon, Montana, and North and South Dakota.
