The funeral for Sharon Rodel Miller, Streeter, North Dakota was held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at The Lehr Seventh Adventist Church in Lehr, ND at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Wishek, ND.

Sharon Rodel Alexenko was born December 10, 1956 at St. Joesph’s Hospital, Dickinson, ND the daughter of Matt and Emma (Kabanuk) Alexenko. Sharon was raised on the family farm near Killdeer, ND where she grew into womanhood and received her elementary through grade nine education at Killdeer High School. She then attended Sheyenne River Academy in Harvey, ND from 10-12th grade. Upon graduation, she attended Union College, Lincoln, NE for 3.5 years majoring in Medical Secretary. After college, Sharon moved to Jamestown and began working for the North Dakota Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists where she worked for about two years. Sharon then worked for Dr. Raymond L. Larsen until June of 1983. On June 19, 1983, Sharon was united in marriage to Jerry Miller at the Dickinson Seventh-Day Adventist Church. They made their home on the Miller Family Farm as 3rd Generation farmers/ranchers where they worked together for almost 32 years helping raise and care for the crops and livestock. She resided on the family farm until her passing. Sharon was a member of the Cleveland Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she held various positions. She was also a member of the Logan County Welcome Homemakers Club and also enjoyed being a part of the Community Cantata and helping the After Prom Committee. Sharon enjoyed doing small crafts, especially making photo albums, caring for the flowers and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the Heritage Singers, playing piano and singing. Sharon was known for her chocolate chip brownies and excellent homemade burrito dinners which became a staple for Friday night suppers and other special occasions. She also enjoyed having bonfires in the summer with neighbors, family and friends.

Sharon died Thursday, May 21, 2015 surrounded by her family at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND, after nearly a year of battling pancreatic cancer. She was 58 years old. The most important was spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors, which included her loving husband Jerry, their daughter Resa (Brodie) Wald, Jamestown, ND; Justin Miller, Streeter, ND; two brothers, Llewellyn (Sharon) Alexenko, Killdeer, ND; Dallas Alexenko, Hettinger, ND; a niece, Tiffany (Kent) Thomas and family, Killdeer, ND; a nephew, Brad (Paulette) Alexenko and family, Sartell, MN; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Linda Miller, Greshman, OR; nieces Connie Miller, Portland, OR; and Crystal (Byron) Harwood, Beaverton, OR.
