Tornado-warning system scheduled for Wednesday

A test of the tornado warning system is scheduled to be issued around 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26.

The test will be conducted throughout North Dakota, but Dunn County communities will also be testing the sirens, said Denise Brew, Dunn County emergency manager.

The test is in conjuction with North Dakota Severe Summer Weather Awarness Week, which runs April 24-28.

The purpose is to heighten awareness of the coming summer weather season, which may include flash floods, tornadoes, lightning, hail, wind and heat, according to a news release from NOAA.
