Two victories in Watford City

Killdeer picked up two team victories at the Watford City XC Invite on Tuesday. Both the Varsity and JV girls were victorious on the hilly course, while the boys improved in the team standings.

Sydney Andersen and Trae Murray went 2-3 in the girls division, finishing behind only defending state champion Asha Smith of Watford City. Shawnee Hansen and Danielle Benz finished in the top 10 with Amber Kukla rounding out the scoring.

Corrie Dobitz ran a strong race, with Rachel Kisse and Bailey Smith not far behind. Angel Calkins also competed in the varsity race.

The JV girls were led by Trinity Scheffer, who won the JV race. Shyanne Oversen and Tyra Dahlen went 4-6 and Rowyn Murray and Anwyn Robinson were the last two scorers for the Cowboys.

The boys finished 8th in the varsity race and 5th in the JV. Cole Dade was the top finisher for Killdeer with Caleb Musick and Colby Dukart also competing.

The JV boys were by Jackson Tanner’s 12th place finish. Garrett Calkins and Daylon Wilkie also ran in the JV division.
