Winter weather advisory in effect until 6 a.m. cst /5 a.m. mst/ Thursday…

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a winter weather advisory for blowing snow…which is in effect until 6 a.m. cst /5 a.m. mst/ Thursday.

* timing…this afternoon through tonight.

* snow accumulations…trace to 2 inches.

* winds/visibilities…northwesterly winds around 30 mph…gusting to 45 mph reducing visibilities to one half mile or less at times…especially in open country.

* main impact…blowing snow will create hazardous driving conditions and low visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

Snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and reduced visibilities. Use extra caution while traveling.

The North Dakota state patrol advises – do not use the cruise control in these winter driving conditions.
