Killdeer started off with a 10-9 first quarter lead over undefeated Bowman County Tuesday.
Then the Cowboys only scored 11 more points in the final three quarter to drop a 47-21 decision to the Bulldogs in a crucial Region 7 girls basketball game.
Bowman improved to 4-0 in Region 7 play and 9-2 for the season with the victory over the Cowboys.
The loss dropped Killdeer to 1-3 in regional play and 6-7 overall.
The Bulldogs went on a 10-4 run in the second quarter to take a 19-14 lead at halftime.
That proved to be the pattern for the rest of the game as the Bulldogs rolled up 28 points in the second half while shutting down the Cowboys. Killdeer had just three points in the third quarter and four more in the final quarter,
Karly Bang led the Cowboys with six point, four coming in the first quarter. Killdeer had three players with four points each – Kelly Bang, Shyanne Oversen, Shawnee Hansen and Tyra Dahlen, Chelsey Morlock had two points while Gracie Doe hit a free throw.

The Bulldogs had two players with 11 points, senior guard Abigail Bartholomay and senior forward Ellie Stafford. Abby Smyle scored seven points, while Jill Svihovec added six. Maureen Burke and Ashlyn Dix both scored four points. While Alexius Miller and Amy Jeffers each added two points.
After hosting Beach Thursday, Killdeer will be on the road for the rest of the month. The Cowboys will visit Grant County
Saturday (Jan. 19) for a 3 p.m. game, then travel to Mott Regent Jan. 24 for a battle with the Wildfire.
