On Sunday January 20th Deputy Whittingham and K-9 Brit met with Boy Scout Pack 26, Den 4 of the Rough Rider District, Northern Lights Council.
The boys are working on their Wolf Badge. Pack Leaders and Deputy Whittingham spoke with the Pack about the similarities the Boy Scouts and Hometown Heroes have in common, such as, they both do community service, help others and wear uniforms. They were also helping them understand the importance of being mentors and good stewards at home and out in public.
Deputy Whittingham and K-9 Brit did a demonstration on how the Sheriff’s Department uses Brit. Also, they went over the Deputy Vehicle and learned about the computer, camera system and other equipment a Deputy uses on a day to day basis.
The boys were so gracious and asked many excellent questions. At the end of the meeting they awarded Deputy Whittingham with a Northern Lights Council Badge! We would like to thank the boys and the parents for allowing us to be a part of such an important accomplishment.
