Dakota College signs Killdeer sharpshooter

Melayna Four Bear has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks during the 2019-20 school year.
Four Bear is a 5-foot-5 guard who as a high school senior averaged 10.6 points and 1.5 steals per game. She shot 44 percent from the field, 32 percent from beyond the three point arc, and 60 percent from the free throw line.
According to coach Wayne Johnson, he is very pleased to welcome her to the Ladyjacks team.
“She is the type of hardworking, supportive teammate we look for as a Jack. Melayna is an outstanding shooter, especially from three point range.
“We really value shooters with range and she has demonstrated a range that will definitely stretch the defense creating opportunities for her teammates to get to the basket.
“We also believe Melayna has the ability to get to the basket off the dribble to score and has the passing ability to get shots for her teammates. We believe Melayna is a great fit for the Ladyjacks family,” he added.
