“In my defense, the moon was full and I was left unsupervised,” reads the quote DeeAnn Kukla had displayed on her bedroom mirror.
These 12 words are a fitting summary for DeeAnn who lived her life on her own terms. She was feisty, funny, strong-willed, beautiful, and overly generous. She would give her last $5 to a stranger or friend who was down on their luck…and often did.
She loved cooking, camping, and animals (especially dogs and horses, not so much snakes and lizards). She excelled at most every sport she tried. Her greatest pride was her two children who, in her words, she loved with “every cell of her body.”
She was a good person who left us far too soon. She will be dearly missed.
DeeAnn Rose Kukla, age 51, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2019, after a long and brave battle with alcohol addiction. She is survived by her two children, Nick and Kate, her parents Donald and Patricia, her siblings Jodi and Eric; and many extended family and friends from every walk of life.
