Dickinson opening Farmers Market in July

There will be only a few Farmers Markets opening up for the summer in western North Dakota.

For residents in Dunn County south to the border with South Dakota there is only one Farmers Market in Dickinson.

In Dickinson, the Farmers Market will be in the Prairie Hills Mall parking lot on Tuesdays (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting in July. Among the crops available will be from Happy Hooves Produce and includes tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, lettuce, beets, carrots, spinach, Swiss chard, cabbage, broccoli, kale, zucchini, various squash varieties and more.

For the people living in Dunn County, there are Farmers Markets if they want to travel east on Highway 200 or further north to Watford City and Williston.

The Sakakawea Farmers Market are being held on Wednesdays in the former Shopko parking lot in Beulah. The markets are open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In nearby Hazen, the Farmers Market is being held Mondays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the all seasons arena.

To the north, Watford City will be holding a Farmers Market from mid-July through August on Thursday 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

In New Town, there is a Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, every Saturday.

In Parshall, there is a Farmers Market at Rockview Plaza from the second week of July through September every Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The Williston Downtowners Farmers Market is held at the corner of West Broadway and First Avenue West through mid-October on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In Stanley, the Farmers Market is held June through September from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays. It is hosted by the Montrail County Garden Club and features local home grown produce.

Further away, there are Farmers Markets in Crosby, Powers Lake and Kenmare.

In Dunn County, there is a produce donation site at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Killdeer on Wednesday’s by appointment.

To the south of Dickinson, there are no Farmers Markets, but Adams County has a food donation site in Hettinger.
