The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office moved over to Dunn Center June 7 to help local children learn more about being safe with their bicycles.
According to a spokesman, the deputies has a great time next to the Dunn Center City Hall as they worked with more than 20 children to help improve their bicycle safety.
“There was great turnout! Kids got some bicycle helmets, goodie bags and were taught bike safety.
“Afterward, there was lunch provided. All in all, it was a great time,” the spokesman said.
In addition, there are plans for future Bike Safety Days in other towns.
Deputies also will hand out coupons to kids for a free ice cream cone at Killdeer DQ, or slushy, or pop at the DC Pub and Grub, if they are out riding their bikes and wearing thier bicycle helmet!
Special thanks to Killdeer DQ, City of Dunn Center, DC Pub and Grub, and anonymous businesses who sponsored and helped out with the event, the spokesman added.
