Elaine Neurohr

1946 -2019

Elaine Neurohr, 73, Dodge, died Friday, April 12, 2019 at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Elaine’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Halliday with Fr. Joseph Evinger as celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Bob Zent presiding.

Elaine Neurohr was born January 17, 1946 in Richardton at a private home since the hospital was  already filled with patients. She was the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Schwartz) Neurohr. Elaine was raised and educated in Dodge, having graduated from Dodge Public School. She attended Dickinson State to complete her standard teaching certificate.

In 1966, she moved to Poplar, Mont. where she taught second grade. In 1969, she returned to Dickinson State to complete her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Poplar for six more years before returning to Dodge. In 1978, Elaine began teaching fifth and sixth grade in Golden Valley. She started teaching in Dodge in 1985 and continued until her retirement from a 40 year career.

During this time she had earned her Masters Degree in Education from UND. She will be remembered for her wonderful personality and sense of humor.

She belonged to St. Paul’s Alter Society and was a member of  Dela Kappa Gamma. She was a Eucharistic Minister at church and also did home delivery of the Eucharist. She was a good seamstress, enjoyed canning and specialty cooking.

Elaine is survived by her siblings, Harold (Sharon) Neurohr, Halliday, Clayton (Carolyn) Neurohr, Halliday, Marian Bosch, Halliday, Adrian Neurohr, Dodge, Louise Neurohr, Dickinson, Clark Neurohr, Dodge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Catherine Neurohr; sister, Margaret Amann; niece, Jeanna Beth Amann; brother-in-law, John Bosch, sister-in-law, Dianna Neurohr.
