Gerald (Gerry) Bogers

Gerald (Gerry) Bogers, 92, Bismarck, formerly from Halliday, died peacefully on September 26, 2019 in Bismarck.
Mass of the Christian burial will be held at 11:00am CT on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 806 E Broadway Ave, Bismarck. Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 30, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Bismarck Funeral Home, 3723 Lockport St (Hwy 83N & Calgary Ave), Bismarck.
Rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00pm.  Private burial to be held at a later date in Halliday.
Gerry was born to Adrian & Gertrude (deKoning) Bogers on June 17, 1927 in Killdeer.  He was raised and educated in Halliday. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 at the age of 17 where he was in the Navy’s Seabees Carpentry Unit until his honorable discharge in 1952.
Gerry married Ann Marquart in 1952 and made their home in Halliday where they raised six children.  He worked for and later owned The Union Bank of Halliday until his retirement in 1982.  Gerry was a member of the American Legion, Elks, Knights of Columbus and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Halliday.  He loved working with his hands.  It showed in the carpentry and woodwork he built and created throughout his life.  Many endless hours were spent in his favorite place, his workshop. His workmanship and generosity benefited many family members, friends and the Halliday community.
Gerry will be greatly missed by his wife: Ann of 66 years; daughters: Connie (Dennis) Wethern, Linda (Randy) Danielson, Diane (Jim) Roise; son-in-law: Rick Lucas; grandchildren: Mike Danielson, Chris Danielson, Stephanie Wethern, Marc Wethern, Melissa Roise and Jenny Roise; great grandchildren: Kiersten Wethern, Jeremiah Wethern and Lucas Wethern; brothers: Joe (Delores) Bogers and Adrian (Gertrude) Bogers and sister: Gertie Marquardt.
Gerry was preceded in death by his children, Michael, Audrey and Gerry Jr; his parents; brothers, John, Dingeman (Bud), Peter and Francis; and sisters, Catherine Hueske, Ella Beaton and Cory Brooks.
