Groups offer scholarships for local college students

The Foundation for Agricultural Education and Development (FAED), in conjunction with Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE), is offering three $1000 Marilyn Spiker /Sheila Massey Memorial  Scholarships for 2019.

The scholarships are being offered to any woman who will begin her first or second year of college, technical or specialized study in a field related to agriculture, such as agronomy, ag economics, ag engineering, veterinary medicine, and Extension educator.

The application must be in the hands of the North Dakota Scholarship chairman by March 1, 2019 along with two letters of recommendation and a current photo. The state winner will receive a free membership to ND WIFE and the monthly newsletter for one year. Her application will be forwarded to the national scholarship chairman who will choose the final winners. The national winner will be notified on or by May 1, 2019.

Applications will be accepted only where state WIFE associations are organized. Special consideration will be given to any applicant who is a member, or a daughter, granddaughter, sister or niece of a

current member of FAED and/or WIFE provided her grade

s and qualifications are equal or exceed

those of other members.

North Dakota has had nine national winners since 1993 from Elgin, Belfield, Mott, Richardton,
