The Killdeer Cowboys got back on the winning track as they downed the Trinity Christian Crusaders 57-52 Monday night.

The win upped Killdeer’s overall record to 7-11 overall.
The Cowboys found themselves in a battle throughout the contest. The guests were able to put 19 on the board in the first eight minutes while holding the hometown Cowboys to 3 less.
Killdeer used a good zone defense and some pressure to take a lead at halftime as the Cowboys outpointed the Crusaders 16-12 in the second quarter.
Killdeer used good balance throughout the evening along with five made shots from beyond the arc to start their scoring splurge in the second half.
The Cowboys, who are preparing for district tournament action, put 12 on the board while holding the Crusaders to 10 in the third eight minutes.
With the 44-41 lead going into the final quarter, Wayne Sanders’s squad held on by putting another 13 on the board in the final frame while holding the Crusaders to 11.
Killdeer, which was 16/26 from the line on the evening, had four ballplayers hit double digits.
Trenton Rohr finished with 16, Christian Kulish tallied 13, Calum Blankenship knocked down 11 and Hayel LeMieux finished with 10 for the white and orange. Brock Pittsley finished with 3 while teammates Cody Johnson and Riley Blankenship each had a bucket.
Rohr and Kulish both knocked down two shots from long range while Pittsley added the fifth.
Killdeer will be playing the 5:00 game tonight in the opening round of the district 14 tourney. The Cowboys will be taking on the Richardton/Taylor Raiders, a team they have beaten in overtime, at the Beulah High School
