Kuhn takes command as new Dunn County sheriff

Gary Kuhn was sworn in Jan. 2 as the new Dunn County Sheriff at the Board of Commissioners room in Manning’s county building.

A Manning resident, Kuhn was elected in November.

Among the changes in the department made since his election, Kuhn has added six new Chevy Tahoe police vehicles to replace currently used Ford Interceptor patrol vehicles.

The Chevy Tahoes are full size SUV’s with larger fuel tanks, passenger and equipment capacity.

· Kuhn has met with Emergency Management Coordinator, Denise Brew to set up a meeting with all areas emergency responders to improve coordination of services for Dunn County.

· Dunn County Sheriff deputies and office staff met with Sheriff Kuhn to discuss the future goals of the Sheriff’s Office. Killdeer Police Chief, Eric Brathen also met with Kuhn to discuss the future working relationship with the sheriff and police department.
