Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial was at the Werner Cemetery, Werner, ND.

Visitation was held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Rosary/Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continued at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Marie was born on May 20, 1920 to Nels and Lena (Stewart) Christensen in Grand Forks, ND. She was raised and educated in the Werner, ND area. She married Valerius Greenshields on June 24, 1944 in Werner. In 1966 they moved to California. Marie worked for Stanford University Medical Records from 1976 until her retirement in 1990. She returned to North Dakota in 2011.

Marie enjoyed traveling and took cruises to Hawaii, Alaska, and the Bahamas. She also took a bus trip to the east coast. Her sense of humor and lust for life were evident in all she did. She enjoyed reading, loved Lawrence Welk, square dancing with Valerius and played a mean game of pinochle with her friends and family, but her greatest pleasure was watching her children interact when they were playing scrabble or poker.

Marie will be deeply missed by her daughters, Janet (Dan) Faiman, Fairview, Mt., Karen (Jere) Hunt, Naples, Fl. and Jean (Albert) Fischer, Mandan; sons, David, Napa Vine, Wa., LeRoy (Peggy), Mesa, Az. and Terry (Lisa), Folsom, Ca.; son-in-law, Greg Sease, Campbell, Ca.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Valerius who died in 1978; daughter, Joan Sease; brother, Walter Christensen and grandson, Michael Tudor.
