Perceived threat causes Monday lockdown in Killdeer

Killdeer Public School went on a soft lock down Monday afternoon after a perceived threat was made by a former student.
The lock down was started at approximately 1 p.m.
The investigation is being handled by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office.
“We went up to the school and investigated,” Sheriff Gary Kuhn said Monday. “We were kind of on a soft lock down. “We did locate the individual and speaking with him now,” he added, just over two hours after the lock down went into effect.
“We are determining if there was any plan to do anything as far as violence,” the sheriff added.
The person under investigation is a minor.
