Taking A Ride: Dunn County does well at state rodeo championships

Riley Reiss had a good Friday at the North Dakota High School Rodeo Association Championships in Bowman.
Reiss, who competed in the 2018 national competition, had a strong performance Friday winning two rounds.
“Catch ‘em fast and throw ‘em fast,” Reiss said was the key to his effort in the first round of the steer wrestling finals. He also finished fifth in tie down roping. Mason Bice placed ninth in the same event.
According to results posted with the NDHSRA, Kelly Bang of Killdeer placed fifth in the pole bending event, Tyler Hansen was second in the tie down roping, while Jayden Hicks of Dunn Center was sixth in bull riding.
In the cow cutting, Kelly Bang was sixth, just ahead of Karly Bang who also was fifth in barrel racing.
The national championships start July 14 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Kelly Bang (left photo) placed fifth in the Pole Bending competition during the North Dakota High School Rodeo Championships in Bowman overf the weekend. The top four places earned a spot in the national rodeo championships which will be held in mid-July in Wyoming. The nationals will start July 14 in the city of Rock Springs and last for almost a week.
